The Central Utah Water Conservancy District (District) is seeking civil engineering, construction management, and geographical information system (GIS) students for internship positions at its Orem office. The District manages and maintains billions of dollars of water related infrastructure including dams, tunnels, pipelines, structures, water treatment plants, and hydroelectric facilities which are used to deliver both primary and secondary water. These internships involve collecting information (e.g., location, attributes, and media) for District infrastructure, as well as job shadowing field operators in order to write technical operation and maintenance documents. Additional responsibilities include reviewing record drawings and construction materials in order to gather information necessary to facilitate cost estimating, working with a GIS analyst to improve geographic accuracy on District assets, and populating asset and cost databases. Interested students should fill out an online application at www.cuwcd.com/jobs.html by August 17th, 2018. The District is looking for applicants who can start by September 4th and work 15-20 hours per week during the fall semester. The District may extend the positions into the winter semester with the expectation that the hires would again work 15-20 hours per week. The pay range varies from $13-$15 per hour (based on qualifications and past work experience). Questions should be directed to Blake Buehler at email@example.com.
